🔈 Spotlight: Rob Remus

We are delighted to recognize our ambassador, Rob Remus, who is from Thunder Bay, Ontario. Rob was diagnosed with type I diabetes at age 19, which eventually led to kidney failure. He received a kidney-pancreas transplant from a deceased donor in 2022, after 3 years on hemodialysis.

After the surgery, he wrote a letter to the donor’s family making a commitment to pay it forward, which is his motivation for becoming an ambassador.
Rob is a media professional with a background in health sciences, public speaking and grief counselling. He previously volunteered for the Humane Society, rescuing animals.

He wishes to help others who may be struggling with their diagnosis, to show that hope and healing are possible. 💚
Rob serves as an Ambassador for Thunder Bay Hospital.
