I am Sylvain. I am originally from Burundi. I’ve been on dialysis for 6 years; 3 years here in Ottawa and 3 in Burundi before that. I am married with one son who lives in Burundi. I played many sports in my younger days - basketball, volleyball, soccer - and really enjoyed it. I love music - all kinds - and listen often.
My wife isn’t able to donate a kidney and my son is too far away. I therefore have no related potential donors and would welcome if you could help me spread the word that I would greatly appreciate a transplant.
I am praying for a good hearted person living donor who would be willing to save my life and enable me to live at least 10 years more safely. A kidney transplant would pursue my goals of studying in the field of addiction so that I can contribute to saving lives as well. A transplant would also allow me to see my only son and meet my daughter-in-law for the first time.
I have much more I would like to do with my life. Thank you for reading my story.
