PATIENTS SEEKING DONORS

I'm a son, a brother and an uncle, and I enjoy spending time with family & friends, being active, playing sports and travelling.

I have stage 5 kidney disease and am currently doing nightly peritoneal dialysis at home. Though dialysis keeps me alive, it is a daily burden that I don't look forward to. For medical reasons, I have not been working. I previously had a career in human resources I really look forward to getting back to work as soon as I can, and perhaps even following my dream of starting my own business.

Getting off dialysis would also allow me to get back to the sports and outdoor activities I love, including hiking, and ultimate frisbee.

Several members of close my family members have come forward and been ruled out for medical reasons. For my blood type (O), I will be waiting 4-8 years or more for a deceased kidney donor. For that reason, my health care team has encouraged my to widen my search for a living donor.

I've also got a website so you can learn more about my journey: www.akidneyformark.com
Thank you for reading my story.
