Hello, My name is Imelda. I'm a Filipino-Canadian living in Toronto with my son. It was in September 2021 when my creatinine started to cause my kidney failure. I was being treated for Arthritis and Anemia. I started my hemodialysis in March 2022, three times a week at Toronto General Hospital. My sister in the Philippines wanted to donate, but initial screening with the Nephrologist showed that she is not a good candidate to donate her kidney.
