Hello, my name is Alberto. I've been happily married to my wife since 2018. We hope to have a baby in the near future. I love sports, music, and spending time with my family. I've been working in the auto parts industry for the last 20 years.
I've had chronic kidney disease since I was 18 years old. I've been on hemodialysis since 2019 and I cannot wait to one day receive a kidney and be able to travel and participate in more things with my family.
In 2017, I received a kidney transplant that failed the following day due to a technical error made by the hospital. This has been extremely disheartening for myself and my family. I had four surgeries in a week and a half to fix the error. The doctors have confirmed that there were no issues with me being able to accept a donated kidney, but this first failed transplant increased my antibodies, making it a bit more difficult for me to find a match.
I am not giving up hope that my donor is out there somewhere and I hope if you are reading this, it might be you.
