Today, we're proud to put the #AmbassadorSpotlight on Jamal, a new ambassador at University Health Network!

After a 4-year stint on home hemodialysis, Jamal received his kidney transplant from a deceased donor on February 5th, 2022. He fondly describes his dialysis care team at Toronto General Hospital University Health Network home hemodialysis unit as an “amazing group of angels.”

As he was recovering from his transplant, Jamal decided that he wanted to give back and help kidney patients and their loved ones by sharing his experience and becoming a member of the TAP team.

Jamal feels like he truly belongs to TAP and loves the interactions he can have with patients who are going through the same journey he went through. While he hasn’t been with TAP for long, he says that all of his interactions, whether one-on-one with patients or in a TAP group, are always amazing!
