A Request from the Heart: Finding a Living Kidney Donor
Dear friends, family, and community,
I am reaching out today to share a vulnerable update about my life and health. I am currently battling end-stage kidney failure. Right now, my life revolves around regular dialysis sessions managed by the wonderful team at the Scarborough Health Network. Anyone who knows me knows how much I truly enjoy life. I want nothing more than to see many more healthy years ahead—free from dialysis machines—so I can focus on living beautifully and being present for my family. Both my son and daughter came forward to be a donor for me but were both declined for health reasons. This means my search for a living donor must continue outside of my immediate family.
Why My Situation Has a High Chance of Success:
I have blood type AB. In the medical world, this makes me a Universal Recipient. I do not need a rare or specific blood type match; I can accept a living kidney donation from any blood type (A, B, AB, or O).
Please Share My Story: You do not have to donate to save my life. By hitting "Share," this post might land on the timeline of a generous soul or an altruistic donor who is ready to help.
