PATIENTS SEEKING DONORS

I am a 48-year-old mother of three children and I work as a special education educator. Every day, my work and my life are guided by care, patience, and love for others. I suffer from a genetic condition called polycystic kidney disease. My kidney function continues to decline, and I am now in the pre-dialysis stage.

This illness has already taken so much from my family. I lost my mother and my brother due to complications from dialysis. Living with this reality is deeply painful and frightening.

Today, I am reaching out with hope. I am asking for a second chance at life — a chance to continue being present for my children, to watch them grow, and to keep loving and supporting them as long as I can. A kidney transplant would give me the opportunity to live, not just for myself, but for my children who still need their mother. My husband was supposed to give me a kidney but he recently got a serious health issue that prevents him from being a donor.

If you would be interested in learning more about being a kidney donor, please reach out to me or Laura Gilbert at 514 890 8000 #24840
