Esther A
My name is Esther Ozebagbe, and I am a 44-year-old mother of two beautiful children, including one who is on the autism spectrum and depends on me deeply for daily care, stability, and support. My biggest wish is to stay healthy and be here to raise my children, who need me now more than ever.
I am a Canadian citizen living in Toronto, and I work as a Caseworker with the City of Toronto, supporting clients on ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program), Ontario Works, and individuals living with disabilities—just like myself. Helping people navigate difficult circumstances and rebuild their lives with dignity has been my life’s calling.
Today, I am facing a serious health challenge. I live with kidney failure caused by lupus nephritis, a severe autoimmune condition that attacks the kidneys.
Despite treatment, my kidney function has declined to a point where I urgently need a transplant to survive and continue caring for my children.
After years on dilaysis, I am now seeking a living kidney donor—someone willing to give the gift of life so I can continue being a mother, serving my community, and supporting my family.
Living donation offers the strongest chance for a healthier, longer life and the wait for a deceased donor kidney in Ontario can be many years, time I may not have.
Living kidneydonors can live a full, healthy life.. My husband was worked up to be my donor but was disqualified.
If you have considered living kidney donation I would love to hear from you.
