Spotlight on Graham N

Graham’s donor was a person who stepped forward or as he prefers to say - “came to his rescue” - after his need for a donor was conveyed to the public by a social media video put together by his family. Graham had his kidney transplant at University Hospital on March 3, 2021. As a TAP ambassador Graham hopes to be able to assist people in similar situations to what he experienced during his kidney failure and post-transplant process. To date he has talked to several kidney patients in different stages of their journey, he focuses on being a good listener and answering as many of the questions they have asked. Graham enjoys being able to connect one-on-one with people who are going down the same path as him. Graham has had several meaningful interactions through TAP. Interestingly, he has had referrals who were people from within 10-20 miles of where he grew up. Graham says, “It was so easy and comfortable for us to trade our stories with each other because we had known each other. It helped them feel much more at ease talking to their families about kidney disease, options, and finding a donor.” Graham’s donor gave him and his family a new life!
