Hey :) I am a 40 yr old mother of 2, my daughter is 15 and my son is 11. My days are filled with connecting with people as I work as a admin assistant at K-8 School in Northern Alberta. When I’m not there, I enjoy travelling, hiking with my husband and dogs and socializing with my friends & family.

I was diagnosed with PKD at younger age but until recently my kidneys were functioning fine. However, it came as a shock when I was told this last year that I would need a transplant sooner then later and to begin to look for a living donor. Though I am very familiar with this process as my mom was on dialysis for 10 years before receiving her angel organ, I am hoping to not have to journey that path. Unfortunately because my disease is hereditary, family donors do not look like a reliable option for me.

I know I have strength in me to get through this difficult time that is nearing, that being said if this just reached one person who maybe reads this and decides they want to donate or even just sign their donor card, I would be happy.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, please share and spread the awareness that organ donation is the most selfless gift one can give.

If you are interested in becoming a living donor, please reach out to me directly or contact the University of Alberta Living Donor Program at or 780-407-8698 to find out how you can donate to me.
